By the time I graduated high school in 2010, I attended 16 different schools. My family was constantly moving until I ended up in foster care at the age of 12. I started going to college in August 2010. Had to withdraw temporarily in 2012 and went back in 2019 and received my Associate’s Degree in 2022. This was done during the pandemic and homeschooling my daughter.
During the pandemic the joy of homeschooling was not easy while going to online school myself. My daughter has an intellectual disability with ADHD and emotionally challenges that can make it hard for her to study. I learned to break her course work down and make it easier for her to learn. This helped me decide to become a professor in the long run. This also helped me learn to work better with her IEP and be a better advocate.
After graduating, I moved on to Southern New Hampshire University. Now I am 6 classes away from my Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing and English with a focus in Poetry. My daughter is about to go off to high school in the fall.
I was originally going to graduate in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Plans changed. Then in 2022, I received my Associate’s Degree in Liberal Studies to prove to myself I could. This motivated my brother to go for his degree and my husband to go back to school. As I get older and wiser, I want a career as a professor to help students on their way and hopefully one day an advisor. This requires more school but my life is school. I could make my life as a professional student.
With all this school work, I have written many poems and working on two children’s books. They will be published soon and with succession. Keep an eye out for preorder dates.
